Pepper, chilli rises on fresh buying

Black pepper and chilli prices rose by up to Rs 300 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by retailers and stockists, following pick up in domestic and export demand.
Restricted supplies from producing belts also supported the upside in prices. Black pepper prices rose by Rs 300 to settle at Rs 19,900-20,000 per quintal.
Red chilli prices also traded higher at Rs 5,000-9,700 against previous closing of Rs 4,900-9,600 per quintal. Traders said sentiments turned better following rising domestic and export demand and firming trend at futures market.
