| The stocks of companies engaged in the metals business have largely gained in last three months on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). While there was a spike in prices from mid-September, the prices once again eased towards the end of October. |

| The LME cash price of lead moved from $961 per tonne on August 2, to $895 as on November 1. The benchmark three-month prices moved from $874 to $873 during the same period. |
| On the BSE, the share price of Binani Industries rose from Rs 17.85 on August 2, to today's close of Rs 25.05, up 40.33 per cent on the BSE. During the same period the stock price of Hindustan Copper rose from Rs 32.50 to Rs 37.95, up 16.76 per cent. |
| Hindustan Zinc rose from Rs 92.45 to Rs 110.95 up 20.01 per cent and Precision Wires gained from Rs 51.80 to Rs 74.40, up 43.62 per cent. |
| Share price of Shivalik Bimetal Controls gained from Rs 101.15 to Rs 182.25, up 80.17 per cent. |
| Sterlite Industries increased from Rs 451.05 to Rs 536.70, up 18.98 per cent, SWIL moved up from Rs 9.67 to Rs 14.97, up 54.48 per cent and Tinplate appreciated from Rs 36.04 to Rs 44.90, up 24.58 per cent. |
| Ram Ratna Wires rose from Rs 9.30 to Rs 12.28 a minor rise of 6.5 per cent. Gujarat Intrux increased from Rs 11.60 to Rs 16.25 and Southern Ispat declined from Rs 9.19 to Rs 8.14. |
