Potato falls almost 2% on higher supply

Offloading of positions by speculators affected the trade

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Potato prices moved down by 1.83% to Rs 811 per quintal in futures trading today largely supply pressure from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the July contract fell by Rs 15.10, or, 1.83%, to Rs 811 per quintal in 32 lots.

The June contract traded lower by Rs 5.20, or, 0.59% to Rs 879 per quintal in 10 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators triggered by higher supplies from producing belts mainly kept pressure on potato futures prices.
