Potato futures extend losses on adequate supply

Potato prices fell by 0.23% to Rs 614.10 per quintal, extending yesterday's losses, in futures trading today on adequate supplies from producing regions against sluggish demand in the physical markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, April potato shed Rs 1.40, or 0.23%, to Rs 614.10 per quintal, with a business volume of four lots.
The March delivery also traded lower by 50 paise, or 0.08%, to Rs 642 per quintal in 23 lots.
Traders attributed the fall in potato futures prices to sufficient stocks in the market following increased supplies from producing belts against lower demand.
