Potato futures remain up on rising spot demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi

Potato futures prices continued to rise by adding Rs 3, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 753.50 per quintal on rising demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in March contract gained Rs 3, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 753.50 per quintal, with business volume of two lots.

The potato for delivery in April traded higher by Rs 1.40, or 0.19 per cent, to Rs 740 per quintal, with a business volume of one lot.

Market analysts said rising demand in the spot market due to the ongoing marriage season against restricted arrivals, mainly pushed up potato futures prices.
