Provisional: Markets end near day lows

Sensex slipped 170 points at 22,461 and the Nifty gave off 44 points to end the day at 6,718

Markets closed in red for the third consecutive day since markets participants turned cautious as foreign investors sold index futures, worth Rs 11.70 billion over the previous two sessions.
