Rice basmati, wheat dara up on increased offtake

Rice basmati and wheat dara firmed up to Rs 100 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today on increased buying support.
Traders said increased offtake by flour mills helped wheat dara prices to strengthen.
Pick up in retailers demand also supported the uptrend in rice basmati prices, they said. However, bajra and maize moved down reduced industrial offtake against adequate stocks.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose further by Rs 10 to Rs 1,165-1,170 per quintal and atta chakki delivery followed suit traded higher by the same margin to Rs 1175-1180 per 90 kg.
In the rice section, rice basmati Pusa-1121 traded higher at Rs 4,200-4,900 from previous close of Rs 4,100-4,850 per quintal.

However, bajra and maize prices fell by Rs 25 and Rs 50 to Rs 925-935 and Rs 1,150-1,160 per quintal, respectively.
