Satyam surges 6%; Tata Motors down 3%

The NSE Nifty is up 74 points at 4,660.

ONGC has zoomed 8% at Rs 957. Satyam has soared 6% to Rs 515, while Infosys has surged 5.2% to Rs 1,967.

NTPC has gained 5% to Rs 166. Wipro has moved up 4.6% to Rs 518.

Tata Steel is up 3.6% at Rs 845. Hindustan Unilever has moved up 3.2% to Rs 238.

Grasim has advanced 2.5% to Rs 2,232.

TCS has inched 2.2% to Rs 979. Maruti is up 1.9% at Rs 761.

HDFC and Bharti Airtel are up 1.6% each to Rs 2,435 and Rs 822, respectively.

Tata Motors, Reliance and DLF have plunged around 3% each to Rs 526, Rs 2,238 and Rs 539, respectively.

 

Ambuja Cements and BHEL have slipped 2.2% each to Rs 85 and Rs 1,438, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro is down 2% at Rs 2,708.

The market breadth is negative - out of 2,660 stocks traded so far, 1,565 have declined, 1,027 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
