ONGC zooms 8%; DLF slips 3%

The NSE Nifty is up 27 points at 4,613.

ONGC has zoomed 8.2% at Rs 960. The IT pack is in demand, Satyam has surged 5.7% to Rs 513, while Infosys has gained 4.7% to Rs 1,954. Wipro has moved up 4.2% to Rs 518.

NTPC has advanced 3.7% to Rs 164. Hindustan Unilever has gained 3.3% to Rs 238.

Tata Steel is up 2.7% at Rs 838. Grasim has inched 2.6% to Rs 2,234.

TCS and Maruti have added 2.1% each to Rs 979 and Rs 762, respectively.

ACC, ITC and HDFC are the other prominent gainers.

DLF has tumbled 3.2% to Rs 537. Tata Motors and Reliance have plunged 2.8% each to Rs 527 and Rs 2,243, respectively.

 

BHEL has slipped 2.2% to Rs 1,438. Ambuja Cements and Larsen & Toubro have declined 1.8% each to Rs 86 and Rs 2,716, respectively.

The market breadth is negative - out of 2,628 stocks traded so far, 1,633 have declined, 928 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
