SCHWING Stetter launches new concrete pump

Leaving behind the traditional way of man-managed concrete mix, being carried over manually at construction sites, more and more construction entities are looking at heavy equipment alternatives. SCHWING Stetter India Pvt Ltd, the 100 percent subsidiary of SCHWING Gmbh, Germany launched SP 1400 the latest concrete pump in the SCHWING global range of pumps, here on Tuesday. SCHWING Stetter is considered one of the leading players in the Indian ready mix concrete equipment industry.

The SP 1400, a rock valve pump is a fast switching circuit with double cylinders. It is designed to pump concrete at greater heights and faster speed. The latest hydraulic components ensure operational reliability and an extended operational life for the product. It is said to be highly fuel efficient due to a 4-cylinder engine and also promises a low operating cost; reliability, durability and high resale value being talked about as its key features.

 

Even though the real estate sector is passing through a phase of stress and the global economic slowdown has spread across sectors, the company thinks there couldn't be a better time to launch it.

"An economic slowdown implies cost cutting and lower expenses on operations. Our new product ensures a low operational cost which means the customer invests less. This is the time to go for lean manufacturing and improve on our efficiencies. I think this liquidity crunch has not affected our industry directly,” Anand Sundaresan, MD, SCHWING Stetter India Pvt Ltd, told Business Standard.

The company's manufacturing units exist in 12 countries and the one in India takes care of the demands of the Asian market. 300 machines in one calendar year is their manufacturing aim which may be considered for a hike later on. 5 perecnt of their total turnover presently comes from import of these SP 1400 machines back to Germany.

Incorporated in June 1998, SCHWING Stetter India commenced its manufacturing operations in 1999. It is an 850-million Euro German concrete machinery manufacturer. SCHWING Stetter is apparently a pioneer in manufacturing equipment for concrete preparation, placement, transportation and recycling.
