Select base metals gain on global cues

Select base metals firmed up at the non-ferrous metal market here today on better industrial offtake supported by a bullish overseas trend.
Meanwhile, copper cable scrap, copper wire bar and copper utensils scrap prices declined owing to reduced demand from consumer industries.
Nickel rose by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 1,130 from last weekend's closing level of Rs 1,125.
Copper sheets cutting and brass utensils scrap both moved up by Rs 3 per kilo each to Rs 378 and Rs 265, as against Rs 375 and Rs 262 last Saturday.
Aluminium utensils scrap edged up by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 100 from Rs 98. Copper scrap heavy and zinc inched up by a rupee per kilo each to Rs 394 and Rs 126 respectively.
However, copper cable scrap and copper wire bar both fell by Rs 3 per kilo each to Rs 398 and Rs 426, as compared with Rs 401 and Rs 426 of last weekend.
Copper utensils scrap eased by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 362.
