Sensex down 148pts; Bharti slumps 5%

 Tata Steel has soared over 2% to Rs 469. Gujarat Ambuja and ITC have moved up 1.6% each to Rs 125 and Rs 169, respectively.

Satyam has spurted 1.3% to Rs 454, and ACC has added 1% to Rs 924.

Bharti Airtel has slumped 4.6% to Rs 721. Wipro and Reliance Communications have plunged 3.7% each to Rs 600 and Rs 416, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Infosys and Ranbaxy have dropped 2.5% each to Rs 886, Rs 2,184 and Rs 348, respectively.

TCS, Reliance and ONGC have declined over 2% each to Rs 1,247, Rs 1,382 and Rs 814, respectively.

Out of 2,557 stocks traded so far, 1,609 have declined, 884 have advanced and 64 are unchanged.
