Sensex down 168pts; Reliance declines 3%

The NSE Nifty is down 49 points at 5,033.

ACC has shed 3.6% at Rs 717. Jaiprakash (JP) Associates and HDFC Bank have plunged around 3% each to Rs 261 and Rs 1,465, respectively.

Reliance has dropped 2.5% to Rs 2,599. Hindalco and BHEL have slumped around 2% each to Rs 176 and Rs 1,726, respectively.

HDFC, TCS and Reliance Energy have slipped nearly 2% each to Rs 2,670, Rs 927 and Rs 1,370, respectively.

Ambuja Cements, Infosys and SBI are down around 1% each at Rs 110, Rs 1,759 and Rs 1,713, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has surged 3.3% to Rs 855.

 

Out of 2,616 stocks traded, 1,521 have declined, 1,031 have advanced and 64 are unchanged.
