Sensex down 77pts; HDFC, TCS slip 2%

The NSE Nifty is down 27 points at 5,054.

Bharti Airtel has surged over 3% to Rs 854. Reliance Communications has rallied 2% to Rs 554.

Wipro has advanced 1.5% to Rs 504. ITC, Ranbaxy and Larsen & Toubro are up around 1% each at Rs 218, Rs 475 and Rs 2,913, respectively.

HDFC Bank, ACC and BHEL have dropped 2% each to Rs 1,478, Rs 729 and Rs 1,727, respectively.

Hindalco, HDFC and TCS have shed 1.8% each at Rs 177, Rs 2,672 and Rs 928, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates has declined 1.5% to Rs 265. Reliance, Ambuja Cements and Infosys are down over 1% each at Rs 2,634, Rs 110 and Rs 1,761, respectively.

 

Out of 2,541 stocks traded, 1,235 have advanced, 1,233 have declined and 73 are unchanged.
