Sensex down 30pts; RCL drops 2%

The Sensex is now down 30 points at 10,714.

Reliance Communications (RCL) has slipped 2.4% to Rs 256. HDFC Bank, Hindalco and Cipla have dropped nearly 2% each to Rs 780, Rs 158 and Rs 232, respectively.

SBI, Tata Motors and Maruti are down around 1.5% each to Rs 798, Rs 729 and Rs 775, respectively.

BHEL has gained 1% at Rs 2,066. Bharti Airtel, Reliance and NTPC are the other notable gainers.

The market breadth is negative - out of 1,977 stocks traded so far, 1,129 have declined, 795 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
