Sensex down 55pts; Hindalco, Guj Amb drop 3%

The Sensex is now down 55 points at 10,689.

Hindalco and Gujarat Ambuja have dropped 3% each to Rs 156 and Rs 102, respectively.

Reliance Communications and HLL have slipped over 2.5% each to Rs 255 and Rs 226, respectively.

Cipla and Tata Motors are down over 2% each to Rs 231 and Rs 724, respectively.

HDFC Bank, Hero Honda, Ranbaxy and Maruti have declined nearly 2% each to Rs 780, Rs 692, Rs 367 and Rs 772, respectively.

BHEL has rallied 2.3% to Rs 2,093. Larsen & Toubro has advanced 1.6% to Rs 2,246, and Bharti Airtel has added 1% to Rs 387.

Out of 2,393 stocks traded so far, 1,404 have declined, 919 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
