Sensex down 66pts; Cipla zooms over 7%

The Sensex is down 66 points at 10,016.

Cipla has surged 7.4% to Rs 549. Ranbaxy is up 1.7% at Rs 413.

Reliance Energy has added 1.3% to Rs 603. Maruti is up nearly 1% at Rs 762.

HDFC and Tata Steel have dropped 2.6% each to Rs 1,310 and Rs 398, respectively.

HDFC Bank has declined 2.3% to Rs 754. Larsen & Toubro and Hindalco have slipped up 2% each at Rs 2,230 and Rs 165, respectively.

Wipro has shed 1.7% to Rs 511. ICICI Bank is down 1.5% at Rs 619. Bharti Tele at Rs 365 and ITC at Rs 159 are down 1.3% each.

HLL, Dr.Reddy's, Tata Power and Gujarat Ambuja have declined over 1% each.

The market breadth is slightly negative. Out of 2,239 stocks traded so far, 1,214 have declined, 960 have advanced and 65 are unchanged.
