Sensex flat; Jaiprakash Associates soars 5%

The Sensex rebounded into the positive zone and touched a high of 9,254. The index is now down 10 points at 9,226. Earlier in the day, the index opened 125 points lower at 9,111, and touched a low of 9,087.

Jaiprakash Associates has soared 5% to Rs 73.

Ranbaxy and ONGC have surged nearly 2.5% each to Rs 215 and Rs 654, respectively.

ITC and SBI have moved up 1.8% each to Rs 179 and Rs 1,080, respectively.

Grasim has gained 1.5% at Rs 1,199. Reliance, Hindustan Unilever and Maruti and Reliance Communications are up around 1.5% each at Rs 1,285, Rs 260, Rs 552 and Rs 164, respectively.

 

Sun Pharma has slumped over 7% to Rs 1,061. BHEL has plunged nearly 3% to Rs 1,317.

Tata Motors has shed 2.5% at Rs 147. NTPC and Tata Steel have dropped 2% each to Rs 186 and Rs 180, respectively.

TCS, Mahindra & Mahindra and ICICI Bank are down over 1% each at Rs 503, Rs 293 and Rs 404, respectively.
