Sensex steady; Maruti zooms 7%

The NSE Nifty is up 71 points at 3,888.

Maruti has zoomed 7% to Rs 586. HDFC has soared 6.7% to Rs 1,835,and HDFC Bank has rallied 6% to Rs 958.

TCS and Mahindra & Mahindra have surged over 5% each to Rs 765 and Rs 519, respectively. DLF has gained 4.5% at Rs 412.

Tata Motors, ICICI Bank and Jaiprakash Associates have advanced over 4% each to Rs 412, Rs 542 and Rs 142, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, Satyam and ACC have moved up 3.7% each to Rs 2,355, Rs 409 and Rs 533, respectively.

Ranbaxy and Tata Steel have plunged over 3.5% each to Rs 453 and Rs 604, respectively.
