Sensex up 146pts; Bharti, RCom firm

The NSE Nifty is up 42 points at 5,042.

Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications (RCom) have soared 6% each to Rs 895 and Rs 564, respectively.

HDFC has rallied 2.5% to Rs 2,653. ICICI Bank and SBI have surged 2.3% each to Rs 896 and Rs 1,719, respectively.

Tata Steel and Wipro have gained 2% each at Rs 792 and Rs 458, respectively. HDFC Bank has added 1.6% to Rs 1,469.

Jaiprakash Associates has plunged 3.7% to Rs 237. DLF has shed 2.3% at Rs 660.

ACC has dropped 1.7% to Rs 785. Infosys has slipped 1.3% to Rs 1,671.

 

Maruti and Ambuja Cements are down 1% each at Rs 738 and Rs 114, respectively.

Out of 2,632 stocks traded so far, 1,554 have declined, 1,011 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
