Sensex up 272pts; breadth +ve

The Sensex is now up 272 points at 13,132.

Larsen & Toubro is trading ex-bonus at Rs 1,224.

Jaiprakash Associates has zoomed nearly 9% to Rs 121. Satyam has soared 8% to Rs 320.

HDFC Bank and Reliance Communications have rallied 5.5% each to Rs 1,298 and Rs 352, respectively.

ICICI Bank has surged over 5% to Rs 562. Tata Power, Grasim and Tata Steel have gained nearly 4% each at Rs 941, Rs 1,750 and Rs 441, respectively.

HDFC has advanced 3.5% to Rs 2,218. Infosys, Wipro and Mahindra & Mahindra have added 3% each to Rs 1,441, Rs 350 and Rs 524, respectively.

 

SBI, Tata Steel and ITC are up over 2.5% each to Rs 1,505, Rs 628 and Rs 193, respectively.

Out of 2,555 stocks traded so far, 1,553 have advanced, 941 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
