Sensex up 30pts; BHEL gains 2%

The Sensex is now up 30 points at 10,774.

BHEL has gained over 2% at Rs 2,090. NTPC has spurted 1.3% to Rs 117.

Reliance, HLL and Ranbaxy are up 1% each at Rs 990, Rs 235 and Rs 377, respectively.

Reliance Communications has slipped 1.6% to Rs 259. HDFC Bank and Maruti are down 1% each at Rs 786 and Rs 778, respectively.

The market breadth is marginally positive - out of 1,578 stocks traded so far, 831 have advanced, 697 have declined and 50 are unchanged.
