Sensex up 98pts; Wipro, REL surge

The Sensex is now up 98 points at 14,189.

Wipro, Reliance Energy and Tata Motors have rallied over 2% each to Rs 626, Rs 525 and Rs 896, respectively.

ITC has gained 1.7% at Rs 177. SBI, Reliance Communications and ONGC have moved up around 1.5% each to Rs 1,155, Rs 468 and Rs 917, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Gujarat Ambuja, ACC and Hindalco  are up 1% each at Rs 950, Rs 139, Rs 1,030 and Rs 178, respectively.

Tata Steel and HLL have slipped over 1% each to Rs 459 and Rs 206, respectively.

Out of 2,533 stocks traded so far, 1,282 have advanced, 1,192 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
