Zinc futures down by 0.54% on weak metal cues

Zinc futures prices drifted by 0.54 per cent to Rs 111.30 per kg today, as traders offloaded their positions, tracking a weak trend in other the base metals pack.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, zinc for delivery in February fell by 60 paise, or 0.54 per cent, to Rs 111.30 per kg, with a business turnover of 130 lots.

The metal for January delivery also shed 55 paise, or 0.50 per cent, to Rs 110.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 2,233 lots.

Market analysts said a weak trend in other base metals and subdued demand at the domestic spot markets, mainly weighed on the zinc futures prices here.
