Zinc futures up 0.57%

Zinc prices rose by 0.57% to Rs 106.40 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions amid a firming trend overseas.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, January zinc gained 60 paise, or 0.57%, to Rs 106.40 per kg, with a trading volume of 22 lots.

The December contract delivery also moved up by 55 paise, or 0.52%, to Rs 105.40 per kg in 677 lots.

Market analysts said apart from a firming trend in base metals on the LME, a pick-up in domestic demand also pushed up zinc futures prices here.
