Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Friday hailed artists as 'builders of society', saying they highlight its positives and negatives.
He asked artists to be society's guiding force', and described art as a manifestation of man's aspiration for a 'good world' around.
He was inaugurating the 79th All India Exhibition of Art-2013 at Indian Academy of Fine Art (IAFA) here today.
The exhibition is the collection of 247 artists from all over the country.
He also honoured 21 top artists from the country and saw the art work presented by them.
He announced the special grant of Rs.5 lakhs for the art gallery.
