'Blue' dominates choice of color in most websites, mobile apps

A new research shows that 'blue' is the dominant color of choice for many leading websites and mobile apps.

John Herrman at The Awl observes that blue is most commonly and widely used in websites, mobile apps, and other platforms. Even the color of most app icons is blue, The Verge reported.

Blue is considered a cool and calming color, which may be the reason behind the choice.

The most famous websites like Facebook, Google, Twitter, Tumblr, LinkedIn etc and mobile apps like Instagram have something in common, and that is their 'blue' color.
