England ace footballer, Wayne Rooney, wants to quit Manchester United after new Old Trafford boss, David Moyes declared on Tuesday that Rooney was a mere substitute for Robin van Persie in the team.

Rooney, who feels he is at the peak of his career, said that he is being driven out of the club after five months of negativity, which is tantamount to 'constructive dismissal,' the Mirror reports.

Rooney said that he can no longer stay at United and he is not going to spend the two remaining years of his Old Trafford contract as a 'non person'.

The 27-year-old also clarified that Chelsea is his preferred destination.

The striker, already England's fifth-highest scorer, is not prepared to play second fiddle at United and does not believe he has anything to prove after nine successful seasons at Old Trafford.
