Edgar Ramirez has been cast to play Jennifer Lawrence's husband in 'Joy', and is in final negotiations for the role.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Fox 2000 project, which would be helmed by David O. Russell, is based on Miracle Mop inventor Joy Mangano, and would be produced by John Davis and John Fox along with Ken Mok.
The film, which would begin production in February 2015, will portray the story of Mangano, portrayed by Lawrence, who began inventing as a teen and kept on dreaming and tinkering while still a single mom raising 3 kids.
Ramirez, 37, would play Mangano's elegant but philandering husband, whom she later divorces. Robert De Niro has already been cast as Mangano's father.
