Fans in US demand for plus-size Disney princess

A petition demanding a plus-size Disney princess has been signed by over 22,000 fans.

The petition was started by Jewel Moore, a US high school student, on Change.org, which is entitled "Every body is beautiful", Metro.co.uk reported.

Moore said that she is a plus-size young woman and she personally knows many plus-size women who struggle with confidence and need a positive plus-size character in the media.

She claimed that If Disney could have a plus-size female protagonist who was as bright, amazing, and memorable as others, it would do a world of good for the plus-size girls who are bombarded with images that make them feel ugly for not fitting the skinny standard.
