The chief of BJP's Tamil Nadu unit, Tamilisai Soundarajan, on Tuesday confirmed her party office has received an anonymous bomb threat letter and said that the state government and police should take extra care to protect the general public.

"There is a threatening letter. We are not taking it much seriously, but words mentioned in that letter were 'we will bombard the BJP office as well as the general places like hospital and railway stations'," Soundarajan said.

"We are much worried about those words because no way public should be affected, they should not lose their lives. So, the Tamil Nadu Government as well as the police should take extra care to protect them," she added.

Soundarajan further said these letters won't alter the growth of BJP's Tamil Nadu unit.

"These letters won't alter the growth of Tamil Nadu BJP because we are growing and definitely coming as an alternative force in Tamil Nadu. But they may think such letters can alter our growth," she said.

"It is a typed letter. There is a mention of some organization, but I don't know if it is an authorized letter or not. But we have lodged the complaint," she added.
