Former Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) chairman Pradip Baijal on Tuesday said his book on the 2G scam offered only that information that was already in the public domain, and added that he had merely listed the events in sequential order.
"All that I have written in my book was already out in the public domain. I merely put it in a sequential narrative so that I can explain the background of the repeated raids and investigations [by the CBI] that took place against me," Baijal told ANI.
"I have written the book as a bureaucrat and that is all I wish to remain," he added.
In his book, Baijal has alleged that the CBI 'harasses' civil servants and political opponents, adding that the agency, in its investigations into the 2G scam, had forced him to implicate industrialist Ratan Tata and former cabinet minister Arun Shourie if he wanted to 'save' himself.
