The husband of a Pakistani woman, who was stoned to death by her family members in broad daylight outside a Lahore court, has condemned the police for doing nothing to stop the attack on his deceased wife.

Muhammad Iqbal said that they were shouting for help when his wife, Farzana Iqbal, was being stoned to death by her family members, but nobody listened.

According to the BBC, Farzana Parveen had married Muhammad Iqbal against her family's wish and they stoned her to death in the name of 'honour killings' in Pakistan, although the woman was three months pregnant.

Muhammad described the police as 'shameful' and 'inhuman' for their failure to stop the attack on his wife, saying that they were shouting for help, but nobody listened.

Muhammad said that one of his relatives even took off his clothes to capture the attention of the police but they did not intervene, adding that they watched Farzana being killed and did nothing.

Farzana's father later surrendered to the police but other relatives who took part in the attack are still free, and Muhammad said that they had been threatening him and his family.

Meanwhile, local police chief Mujahid Hussain said that they arrested a few of the people threatening Muahammad that they would snatch the dead body, while others are currently being investigated.
