IAF on relief and rescue mission in aid of flash flood affected areas

The Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters are on standby since yesterday to respond to requests by the district administration for carrying out relief and rescue missions in flash flood affected areas after the heavy rainfall.

IAF's helicopters, including Mi17, Mi17 V5 and ALH, carried out missions to airlift men, equipment, relief material medical aid and rescued 21 persons stranded in Nakur area, Saharanpur district, which included six children and 22 persons from Indri Sub division of Karnal district.

The IAF has its aircraft on standby at Ambala, Sarsawa, Bareilley, Gorakhpur and Agra for prompt missions towards providing continuous humanitarian aid to the flood affected regions and is in constant touch with the district authorities for coordinating missions.
