Poacher killed in Jorhat

One poacher was killed at the Kazinranga National Park in an encounter with forest guards.

Forest guards intercepted three poachers in the wee hours and gave chase when they opened fire. Other poachers managed to flee from the spot.

A rifle and several rounds of ammunition were recovered from the encounter site.
