Delhi police today resorted to the use of water cannons to disperse Congress protesters agitating against the power and water crisis in Nangloi. The demonstration against the poor electricity and water supply in the capital has been going on for three days now.

At a protest in Vikas Marg, former MLA Dr. AK Walia, said, "During the Congress party rule, there was no need for protests and when AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) came into power for 49 days, they didn't do anything except for making false promises and kept on protesting for their own issues."

He also blasted the Central government by adding, "Now under the governance of BJP, nothing has been done to solve the problems faced by the common man in the capital and the party hasn't even had a meeting to improve the system,"

Walia said, "Unless BSES is handled strictly and the present government holds regular meeting with them, there can't be any solution to the power crisis in the city and when we were in power, all 70 MLAs used to have meetings to find solutions to the problems faced by the people."

Congress party had on Friday staged a protest outside the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in New Delhi, to demonstrate against the power and water crisis.

Congress' Arvinder Singh Lovely had also warned about not stopping the protest till the people of Delhi don't get relief from power and water crisis.
