President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday extended his greetings and felicitations to the government and people of the Republic of Turkey on the eve of their National Day.
In his message to Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of the Republic of Turkey, he said, "On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it is with great pleasure that I extend warm greetings and felicitations to Your Excellency and to the friendly people of Turkey on the occasion of your National Day."
"India and Turkey have enjoyed traditionally close relations based on shared values and historical linkages. India is committed to strengthening and expanding our bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of our two peoples. Please accept, Excellency, my best wishes for your good health and for the welfare and prosperity of the friendly people of the Republic of Turkey," President Mukherjee added.
