A romantic gesture of having an owl deliver the wedding rings, stalled a wedding ceremony as the bird flew up into the church rafters and fell asleep for an hour.
The owl, Darcey, which was supposed to come sweeping during the ceremony in the Holy Cross Church in Sherston, Wiltshire, instead had the desperate helpers coax him to come down, Metro.co.uk reported.
The owl, which slept for an hour, still had red ribbons attached to its feet.
Reverand Chris Bryan, who decided not to sit through the halt, continued the ceremony with a set of back-up rings, until the bird descended.
