FIFA President Sepp Blatter took to Twitter to apologise to Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo following a three-minute video, taken as Blatter spoke to college students, going viral, in which he was caught poking fun at him.
According to the Mirror, in the video, Blattermocks the Portugal striker's style-of-play and admits he prefers Barcelona's Lionel Messi.
Both players are among the 23 contenders for FIFA's Ballon d'Or, given to the world player of the year, the report said.
Suggesting that Ronaldo is vain, Blatter said that one has more expenses for the hairdresser than the other.
Ronaldo responded by writing on Facebook that this video showed clearly the respect and consideration FIFA had for him, his club and country, adding that much was explained now.
Blatter later responded that he apologized if Ronaldo was upset by his light-hearted answer at a private event on Friday, adding that he never meant to offend him.
