An impressive all-round performance by the Mumbai Indians has propelled the hosts to a 19-run win against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday.
Rohit Sharma scored a masterly 59 off 35 balls with three fours and four sixes to power Mumbai to 187 for five, adding 97 off 60 balls for the fourth wicket with Kieron Pollard, who managed 43 off 31 deliveries.
According to Sport24, however, the Mumbai innings were marred by an ugly stand-off between Pollard and RCB fast bowler Mitchell Starc, which started when Starc delivered a ball in the 17th over of the Mumbai innings despite Pollard pulling out of the way due to a distraction.
As the ball followed Pollard while he was moving out of the way to the leg-side, the outraged batsman threw his bat in the direction of the bowler, and an angry war of words erupted, with the umpires stepping in to calm the players down.
Meanwhile, the report added that Jasprit Bumrah, with 2-22, Lasith Malinga, with 2-28, and Harbhajan Singh, with 2-33, collectively inflicted the most damage for Mumbai and restricted the visitors to 168 for eight.
