Former England captain Michael Vaughan has told Australian captain Michael Clarke to stop pointing his finger at opponent players, adding that Clarke has done more damage to the game with his body language than with his verbal threat.
Clarke was fined 20 per cent of his match fee following last week's first Ashes Test in Brisbane after telling England's James Anderson: 'get ready for a broken f***ing arm', although it has been alleged that Clarke was prompted to make the comment after Anderson threatened to punch George Bailey in the face.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Vaughan said that he hates it when captains point the finger at players, which is one of the things that he wants changed in the game, adding that Clarke has done the same on a number of occasions and needs to stop it.
Vaughan further said that Clarke needs to stop pointing fingers in order to set an example to young players and the upcoming generation, although he admitted that swearing, albeit terrible, goes on in all sports, including rugby, football and cricket.
Vaughan also said that Clarke should not have walked from second slip to Anderson while he was batting, adding that sort of thing also needs to be ironed out.
