'Well played Hingis and Sania', says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated tennis ace Sania Mirza and her partner Martina Hingis for winning the Wimbledon women's doubles title.

"Well played @mhingis & @MirzaSania. You played wonderful tennis & registered a fantastic win at @Wimbledon. We are proud & very happy," tweeted Prime Minister Modi.

Mirza and Hingis delivered a 5-7 7-6(4) 7-5 blow to their Russian comeptitors Elena Vesnina and Ekaterina Makarova.

This is Sania's latest heist after winning three mixed doubles Grand Slam trophies.
