Australia Market gains 0.6%; lenders lead rally
Australia stock market closed session higher on first trading session of week, Monday, 4 June 2018, tracking gains on Wall Street last Friday after U.S. jobs data bolstered optimism in the world's largest economy. However, market gains capped amid lingering concerns over US-China trade after China threatened that previous trade agreements negotiated by the countries "will not take effect" if the Trump administration goes ahead with a planned tariff increase. The S&P/ASX 200 index rose 35.1 points, or 0.6% to 6025.5.
