Australian equity market finished session higher on Wednesday, 22 November 2017, as risk sentiments boosted up by tracking rally in global equities on the back of brisk European and U.S. equities overnight. The S&P/ASX 200 index closed up 0.4 per cent or 22.879 points, to 5,986.4, with nine of the exchange's 10 sectors trading positively. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 681 to 562 and 360 ended unchanged. The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 1.28% to 10.723 a new 1-month low.
