Energy shares ease

Energy stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Energy index falling 2.88 points or 0.06% at 5114.12 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Adani Gas Ltd (down 5.64%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (down 1.41%),Confidence Petroleum India Ltd (down 0.72%),Alphageo (India) Ltd (down 0.7%),Panama Petrochem Ltd (down 0.51%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Reliance Industries Ltd (down 0.36%), Selan Explorations Technology Ltd (down 0.23%), Petronet LNG Ltd (down 0.18%), Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd (down 0.1%), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 0.08%).

On the other hand, Goa Carbon Ltd (up 5%), Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd (up 3.79%), and Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 3.11%) moved up.

 

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 211.71 or 0.51% at 41598.11.

The Nifty 50 index was up 68.65 points or 0.56% at 12249.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 84.93 points or 0.57% at 14857.25.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 38.37 points or 0.76% at 5102.46.

On BSE,1394 shares were trading in green, 965 were trading in red and 159 were unchanged.
