FMCG shares spurt
FMCG stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index rising 175.95 points or 1.54% at 11628.75 at 09:52 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd (up 5.92%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries Ltd (up 5.78%),Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd (up 5.03%),L T Foods Ltd (up 4.59%),Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd (up 4.34%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Hindustan Unilever Ltd (up 4.17%), GlaxoSmithkline Consumer Healthcare Ltd (up 4.12%), Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd (up 3.23%), Triveni Engineering and Industries Ltd (up 3.19%), and Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd (up 2.92%).
On the other hand, Parag Milk Foods Ltd (down 6.89%), Associated Alcohols & Breweries Ltd (down 5.35%), and Mcleod Russel India Ltd (down 4.36%) moved lower.
At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 337.86 or 0.82% at 41554.
The Nifty 50 index was up 100.3 points or 0.83% at 12208.2.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 26.49 points or 0.18% at 14776.44.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 18.94 points or 0.37% at 5124.27.
On BSE,864 shares were trading in green, 628 were trading in red and 80 were unchanged.
