FMCG stocks edge higher

FMCG stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index increasing 60.47 points or 0.5% at 12086.99 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, Globus Spirits Ltd (up 11.29%), Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd (up 8.39%),Britannia Industries Ltd (up 5.71%),Mcleod Russel India Ltd (up 4.89%),Coastal Corporation Ltd (up 4.69%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Sanwaria Consumer Ltd (up 4.66%), EID Parry (India) Ltd (up 3.41%), Associated Alcohols & Breweries Ltd (up 3.39%), Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Ltd (up 2.82%), and Godfrey Phillips India Ltd (up 2.58%).

On the other hand, Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd (down 7.77%), Venkys (India) Ltd (down 5.92%), and Avanti Feeds Ltd (down 5.33%) turned lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 17.5 or 0.04% at 40362.58.

The Nifty 50 index was up 14.75 points or 0.12% at 11928.2.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 23.18 points or 0.17% at 13474.34.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 1.98 points or 0.04% at 4667.76.

On BSE,902 shares were trading in green, 674 were trading in red and 88 were unchanged.
