FPIs turn sellers

Net outflow of Rs 1211.47 crore on 5 February 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 1211.47 crore into the secondary equity markets on 5 February 2018, compared with net inflow of Rs 981.12 crore on 2 February 2018. On 5 February 2018, the Sensex fell 309.59 points or 0.88% to settle at 34,757.16, its lowest closing level since 12 January 2018.
The net outflow of Rs 1211.47 crore from the secondary equity markets on 5 February 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5875.62 crore and gross sales of Rs 7087.09 crore.
There was an inflow of Rs 128.04 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 5 February 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 155.89crore and gross sales of Rs 27.85 crore.
FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 677.27 crore from the secondary equity markets in February 2018 so far till 5 February 2018. FPIs had bought stocks worth a net Rs 13635.44 crore from the secondary equity markets in January 2018.
