Healthcare stocks edge higher

Healthcare stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index increasing 1.56 points or 0.01% at 13521.41 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Fermenta Biotech Ltd (up 5.75%), Take Solutions Ltd (up 3.85%),FDC Ltd (up 2.82%),Hester Biosciences Ltd (up 2.74%),Sequent Scientific Ltd (up 2.21%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Opto Circuits (India) Ltd (up 1.72%), Indoco Remedies Ltd (up 1.71%), Vimta Labs Ltd (up 1.55%), Strides Pharma Science Ltd (up 1.38%), and Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd (up 1.31%).

On the other hand, Dishman Carbogen Amcis Ltd (down 7.48%), Hikal Ltd (down 3.24%), and Marksans Pharma Ltd (down 2.48%) turned lower.

 

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 132.95 or 0.32% at 41493.69.

The Nifty 50 index was down 46.5 points or 0.38% at 12235.7.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 21.65 points or 0.15% at 14006.41.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 11.02 points or 0.23% at 4837.73.

On BSE,817 shares were trading in green, 647 were trading in red and 83 were unchanged.
