IMD Says Cumulative Rainfall In This Season Below 14% Of Long Period Average

A latest update from the IMD showed that for the country as a whole, cumulative rainfall during this year's southwest monsoon season upto 10th July, 2019 is below Long Period Average or LPA by 14%. Details of the rainfall distribution over the four broad geographical regions of India vary. Northwest India has seen a drop of 11% while Central India has seen a deviation of just -01%. However, in South Peninsula, the cumulative rainfall is below 28% compared to the LPA. The East & northeast India has also seen a decline of 22%.
